Program Overview

As a participant in our Observationship Program, you'll have the exceptional opportunity to spend a day observing medical practices at a partner hospital. This immersive experience will allow you to rotate through various departments, including emergency room and consultation. Witness medical professionals in action, gain insights into their daily routines, and learn about the healthcare challenges and triumphs faced in a low-income country.

Cultural Immersion

Beyond the hospital, you'll delve into the heart of Dominican culture. You'll have the chance to connect with the Dominican community, experience local traditions, and savor the flavors of Dominican cuisine.

Requirements

Current medical or research intern for the Dominican Republic study abroad program. This is an additional opportunity, not a stand alone program.  Program offered with select cohorts and is subject to hospital and doctor availability.
